Hi! I'm Pep Covas Vidal (P. B. Covas), a physicist doing research mainly related to the detection of continuous gravitational waves emitted by rotating asymmetric neutron stars. I'm currently working as assistant professor ("professor ajudant doctor") at the University of the Balearic Islands in Palma, Spain.
Most of my current research is about searching for continuous gravitational waves emitted from unknown neutron stars in binary systems (which have not yet been detected), one of the most computationally demanding types of gravitational-wave searches. My time is divided between trying to improve the sensitivity and efficiency of search algorithms, and carrying out searches in different regions of the parameter space described by the rotational frequency of the neutron star and the semi-major axis and orbital period of the binary system.
Feel free to contact me about anything related to my research or about continuous gravitational waves!
